# Transformation Program

A large, coordinated program of change that reshapes how an organization operates to achieve strategic and financial goals.

A transformation program is a major, multi-workstream effort — digital, operational, post-merger, or strategic — that changes an organization’s processes, technology, or operating model. Because it touches many teams and dependencies at once, it demands strong orchestration, governance, and benefits tracking.

Success is judged less by activity than by realized outcomes, so transformation programs rely on traceability from strategic intent through delivery to measured value.

### Commonly confused

Continuous improvement, or labeling routine improvement "transformation." Transformation is a discontinuous, portfolio-scale shift in how a business operates; continuous improvement is incremental gain within the current model. They need different governance, cadence, and tolerance for risk.
