# Workstream

A defined strand of related work within a program or initiative, owned by a team and delivered toward a shared outcome.

A workstream groups related activities within a larger program so they can be owned, delivered, and reported as a coherent thread. Complex programs are typically organized into multiple workstreams that run in parallel and depend on one another.

Managing status, milestones, risks, and dependencies at the workstream level lets a program roll delivery up into a clear, governance-ready picture.
