OKROKR

A goal-setting framework pairing an Objective with the Key Results that measure progress toward it.

OKR — Objectives and Key Results — is a goal-setting framework that pairs a qualitative Objective (what you want to achieve) with a small set of quantitative Key Results (how you will know you are getting there). It is a structure for setting and aligning goals, not a metric in itself.

OKRs are frequently confused with the individual metrics they contain. An OKR is the frame; the Key Results are measures within it; and a target is the specific value a Key Result aims for. Keeping these distinct prevents the common failure of relabeling every number an "OKR" and losing the discipline the framework is meant to impose.
