Sequencing is the decision about what order to do things in — arranging prioritized work across time according to dependencies, available capacity, and the moments when value can be captured. It answers "when," given that prioritization has already answered "what matters most."
Sequencing and prioritization are complementary but not interchangeable. Ordering a list does not rank it: a carefully sequenced backlog with no priorities still commits the organization to everything on it. Sound execution needs both — a ranking that says what matters, and a sequence that says when each piece happens.
