Unpacking the Transformation Landscape

Enterprise transformation is pivotal for driving growth and success in today’s volatile and complex business environment. The survey provides an in-depth look at the scale of transformation teams, types of initiatives, and the tools and processes that organizations use to execute these efforts. Key findings include:

  • AI Adoption: Over 85% of surveyed organizations are incorporating AI into their transformation strategies, with more than 50% having formal policies in place.
  • Leadership Involvement: Nearly 60% of respondents hold VP-level or higher positions, emphasizing the importance of executive leadership in driving transformation, and 70% of programs have direct oversight from CEOs.
  • Multiple Initiatives: About 30% of organizations are managing ten or more concurrent transformation initiatives, often in early stages and struggling to achieve financial targets.
  • Inefficiencies in Transformation Offices: A significant portion of Transformation Management Offices’ time—about 25%—is spent on low-value status-tracking activities, highlighting a need for better tools and processes.
  • Reliance on Traditional Tools: Despite the availability of modern platforms like Conductor by Sensei Labs, many organizations still depend on tools like Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI for managing and tracking their transformation programs.

The Need for Modern Transformation Platforms

The survey results underscore the benefits of modern, purpose-built transformation platforms. A 2022 report from Constellation Research found that these platforms, like Conductor, can achieve three times the success rate of traditional solutions. “New approaches that integrate people, processes, and data can dramatically reduce risks and improve outcomes,” said Dion Hinchcliffe, Vice President and Principal Analyst at Constellation Research.
