Execution Velocity is a portfolio-level measure of how quickly and how completely an organization turns strategy into realized value. It is expressed as (number of priority initiatives × realization rate × average value per initiative) ÷ time to benefit — combining how much is prioritized, how much of the promised value is actually captured, and how long capture takes.
Unlike throughput measures that count activity, Execution Velocity counts realized value against the time it took to realize it. An organization can be busy — high throughput — yet have low Execution Velocity if little of that activity converts into captured benefit or if benefits arrive slowly.
